“Christmas On Holly Lane”

This is a wonderful story of friendships that last through the years and the power and wisdom to take chances.

Sarah (Sarah Lancaster) a wife and mother has been blindsided by her husband’s affair. He has left their home, but Sarah is hoping that with counseling there is a chance for their marriage. Feeling alone and betrayed, she contacts her long time friends, Cat (Gina Holden) and Riley (Karen Holness) who come to spend a weekend with her. The three women have ties and wonderful memories at Sarah’s house on Holly Lane, as Cat and Riley did not have stable families, and it was Sarah’s mom who gave them the wonderful memories.

Upon their arrival, the three women decide to go into town, a town they all grew up in that hasn’t changed in years. All three of them are at a crossroads in their lives. Over comforting greasy hamburgers and fries, Sarah confides in her friends that her husband has left, Cat unloads that she is tired of working for a restaurant that doesn’t live up to her standards as a chef and Riley admits that she is sickened at the manipulating tactics of the Investment firm she works for.

The girls decide that decorating Sarah’s house would bring back great memories of their holidays on Holly Lane. As Riley is on a ladder hanging Christmas lights, she slips, falls and sprains her ankle. While at the hospital, Sarah runs into her husband who is with a woman talking to a physician and finds out that her husband’s girlfriend is pregnant, therefore, there’s no hope of reconciliation. All three friends are feeling like their lives are not where they had hoped.

One morning, Riley suggests that she gets a financial backer so that Cat can buy their childhood hamburger restaurant. Riley presents the idea to her superior and is shot down. Riley tells her boss what she really thinks and is fired. On the upside, Riley is given a large severance check and chooses to invest in Cat and her restaurant. Both Riley and Cat ask Sarah if they can temporarily live at the house on Holly Lane with her until they get settled. Sarah agrees reluctantly because her husband has hired a Real Estate Agent to sell the home; the home Sarah’s grandparents built, the home her parents raised her in and now the house she had her family in. Sarah is an author, but can not buyout her husband at this time.

Cat’s restaurant is a success, and Riley, in addition to being Cat’s partner, is taking on women clients who need financial advice. With both of these women earning money, they go to Sarah’s husband with an offer. The offer is that they will live with Sarah and pay her rent which will afford her to pay the mortgage and to pay him off monthly. Sarah’s husband who has begun to understand how not to take the easy way out of a situation wants to help and agrees.
